Rapid City, South Dakota, is home to many beautiful parks and gardens. Sunken Gardens can be found along Canyon Lake Road, across the parking lot from the Rapid City Parks office building.
Rapid City's extensive bike path runs right past Sunken Gardens. It is definitely worth a stop while passing through the area. This seasonal garden is in full bloom from mid-June until autumn.
This stop along your walk (or bike ride) makes for some beautiful pictures. The gardens contain a wide variety of flowers in all colors. A solitary bench overlooking the gardens provides a lovely opportunity to take in the view.
